After several months bearing a transitional “Dispatch by Clorox” label, in February 2013 Dispatch® liquid products — sprays, pull-top, and refill bottles — will adopt their new, final name and label: Clorox Healthcare™ Bleach Germicidal Cleaners.
This new look and name embodies the
Clorox Healthcare™ commitment to providing the widest variety of efficacious, ready-to-use disinfecting solutions to meet the needs of healthcare professionals.
Rest assured, while the brand name is changing, the products themselves will remain the same, and continue to feature the same Dispatch® formula you know and trust.
* Use as directed on pre-cleaned, hard nonporous surfaces.
Clorox Healthcare™ Bleach Germicidal Cleaner is a unique, stabilized sodium hypochlorite and detergent solution that kills pathogens fast — with a five-minute contact time for Clostridium difficile spores† and with a one-minute contact time for a broad range of microorganisms, including TB and MDROs such as Acinetobacter baumannii, Enterobacter aerogenes, VRE and MRSA.
Clorox Healthcare™ Bleach Germicidal Cleaner is premixed, ready to use and is similar to the 1:10 bleach solution strength that is recommended by CDC guidelines for effective disinfecting. Clorox Healthcare™ Bleach Germicidal Cleaner contains an anticorrosive ingredient that makes it less damaging to surfaces or equipment than conventionally prepared bleach solutions.
† Use as directed on pre-cleaned, hard nonporous surfaces.
Ready-to-use, stabilized bleach and detergent solution:
Clorox Healthcare™ is more convenient than other 1:10 bleach solutions such as those recommended by the CDC for infection control protocols on many dimensions. It is more stable and pleasant to use. Clorox Healthcare™ remains stable through expiration date (two years from manufacture).
Cleaner disinfectant in one step:
In addition to being a fast, broad-spectrum disinfectant, Clorox Healthcare™ is also an excellent cleaner because it contains detergent and an anti-corrosive ingredient that minimizes damage to surfaces and equipment. Clorox Healthcare™ spray can be used on a variety of hard, nonporous surfaces such as stainless steel, glazed ceramic tile, hard plastics, nonporous vinyl, painted surfaces, Plexiglas, laminated plastic countertops, fiberglass (sealed) surfaces, glazed porcelain and glass.
May be used for instrument precleaning and disinfection of noncritical instruments. Must be applied directly onto the surface until the surface is completely wet. Keep surface wet for the contact time listed on the label.
OSHA has approved the use of bleach solutions as an effective means of protecting healthcare workers from the risk of contamination by bloodborne pathogens.1
Gross contamination (visible soil) must be cleaned up first with soap and water, then followed by use of the bleach solution for disinfecting.
OSHA requires that conventionally prepared bleach solutions be made up daily (every 24 hours) and left on the surface until the bleach has air-dried. Gross contamination (visible soil) must be cleaned up first with soap and water, followed by use of the bleach solution for disinfecting.
